I currently serve as a Senior Associate in the Energy & Extractive Law department at AO2Law, a leading Nigerian commercial law firm, where I focus on energy law, project development, natural resources, corporate/commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance.
My core areas of practice include corporate and commercial law, mergers & acquisitions, project finance and infrastructure law, construction and real estate, corporate finance and securities law, intellectual property, data privacy, and business restructuring. I work closely with local and international clients to structure transactions, navigate complex regulatory landscapes, and manage legal risks in high-stakes commercial matters.
Prior to joining AO2Law, I worked as a Senior Associate at Yingke Law Firm, a globally recognized Chinese law firm headquartered in Beijing, where I supported several Chinese companies expanding into Nigeria. I began my legal career at J.O. Fabunmi & Co., where I gained foundational experience in project finance, public-private partnerships (PPP), and construction law during my NYSC year. I later honed my skills in litigation and dispute resolution at Abdu-Salaam Abbas & Co., handling commercial disputes, debt recovery, and family and succession matters.
Afterwards, I worked as a Senior Associate at Yingke Law, a globally recognized Chinese law firm headquartered in Beijing, where I specialised in corporate/commercial law, business advisory, mergers & acquisitions, project finance & construction law, corporate finance & securities law, data privacy protection, Intellectual Property Law, corporate restructuring and insolvency
Beyond legal practice, I have a strong interest in technology and its intersection with law. With hands-on experience in cloud computing & DevOps, I bring a modern, solutions-oriented perspective to the practice of law; especially when advising tech-driven businesses. My background in cloud engineering enhances my ability to understand digital business models, analyse legal risks in emerging industries, and approach challenges with technical and analytical depth.
